How do I upload my file?
Files must be uploaded as PDF documents, ideally optimised for print production - please see separate help topics for doing this.
The type of product you have ordered will determine how we need your PDF to be formatted and uploaded to our system:
Bound products with a spine:
Cover file
This needs to be provided as a spread to include the spine artwork. The width of the spine is calculated and displayed in the information section at the bottom of the configuration screen. It should comprise two 'pages' if the product is PUR bound (even with blanks), but just one side if a case-bound hardback product.
In this example you can see how the cover PDF for an A5-sized PUR product's cover size, with a 10mm spine, should be sized and set up:
Inside pages should be provided as one file comprising single pages listed in order. Please note that this does not include the inside cover pages, so the first folio will be page 3 of this document.
Each page should be set to the correct finished size also with consistent trim boxes and marks throughout.
Do not upload spreads or attempt to create a 'traditional' impostion.
Bound products without a spine
This relates to all stapled (sitiched) and Wiro bound products.
Please provide one file comprising single pages listed in order, starting with the outside front over, going through all of the inners pages and finishing with the outside back cover.
Each page should be set to the correct finished size also with consistent trim boxes and marks throughout.
Do not upload spreads or attempt to create a 'traditional' imposition.
